Annual Day at School - Chrysalis High

School life - always an experience for the students. My pre-schooler is in her 7th month of Junior Kindergarten. And believe me, the journey had been a roller-coaster ride! Anyways, leaving all the details of how and what happened when in school, let me just focus the shift to the Annual Day function observed yesterday. The kids, I must mention, had put up a show to remember!

The journey of annual day started with the teachers and students, working in sync to do various dances, etc. It started being fun for the kids. They of course enjoyed the dances sessions over the daily doses of writings and spellings! Not all though enjoy dance! It was quite boring for some, observation classes for some where they would just observe what the other kids are doing! Excitement for some, who love dancing!

I can only imagine the hard work put on by the teachers too! Their perseverance was obvious. Teaching groups of 30 kids to dance in co-ordination is quite a task, a herculean task! But they did and they won. Along with them won the kids! They had put up such a brilliant show. We, the parents were spellbound.

The day started off well. The decor of the auditorium was wonderful as per the theme "The Jungle Book - Mowgli's Quest". One could get a feel of the jungle there. The entire setup was per se of jungle and a Mowgli or a Bagira peeping over here and there!

The evening started with lighting of the lamp and the usual stuff. But the moment the kids got on stage, it set the whole auditorium on fire, literally! The kids who made the announcements, the one's who narrated the story of Mowgli were just too good - too smart and intelligent. I swear, even being a parent, I could never remember such a long skit and then explain it to a hall full of 500 people who were maybe seven eight times my age, all staring at me! Never! But they did and hence I say, they conquered! They quashed their fears and displayed immense courage to perform at their best of their capabilities!

Along with the narration came in a very well organized dance sessions and the Mowgli-Bagira-Baloo conversations, all amidst the thunderous claps of the parents! I must say, the kids were full of confidence and didn't at all appear nervous or shy, not a single kid. All credit goes to the teachers of course. You are molding the little persons, the next generation's adults very well.

The function was a huge success and since I couldn't give it yesterday in the auditorium, I here by give a standing ovation to all the kids, the teachers, principal and staff of the school who made it happen. And lastly, the parents too, who are raising such bright kids! Who waited patiently in queues for hours before being let inside the auditorium. And lastly, the director who was offbeat from the general school directors and cared for the kids as perceptible! God bless you all!

*Apologies - I did not have many pics of the show!
