**Wrote for my kid who turns  5 this year!

As we turn five

And, of no fun, we deprive!

In every conversation, we need to dive

And to all music, we can jive!!

Naughtier that we have become

Katti Batti, we now know how to use the thumb!

Everyday we display that we are no dumb

We find humour in gum and bum!!

From alphabets and numbers, we have graduated to words

Sight and sirds, animals and birds!!

Dancing raisins and ocean in a bottle

Experiments that show us mottle!

Salad making and weather model that we can make

Pottery and painting is our piece of cake!!

Cookies that we bake and things that we break,

Body we can move and Booty we can shake!!

Reading a sentence is our new charm

And we have but visited a farm.

We understand now when someone means harm

And definitely know, when to raise an alarm!!!

Touches that can be good and bad

That we have to learn them now, is very sad!

In whatever dress we are clad,

Why can’t we just have fun and be glad??

Activities in school are making us compete

Whether we lose or win, its all a feat!

Let’s not bury our childhood and beat the heat

Let us for the time being enjoy our seat!!

Around the park, we run and hop

In energy, we are always at the top!

Every weekend we love to shop

And clean the house, wipe and mop!

Messy rooms and color filled walls

The almirah is full of enough barbie dolls

And still every week we visit the malls

Raising every eyeballs!!!

Stories that we cook up

Emotions that we blow up

Toys that we never pile up

And yes, we love makeup!!!

The kisses we shower

That is our prime power!

Any day and any hour

When the time around is turning sour!!

The big drops that flow out of our eyes

When our precious little heart cries

Every effort, our every tries

We get whatever our heart desires!!!

And as we step into yet another year

Come on friends, give us a cheer!

For we have no fears

And every silver lining for us, clears!!!!
