My dear teachers!

Teacher, teacher O’ dear teacher
Your super brains are your most attractive feature!
The A, B, C that you instilled in me
I would forever be ascribed to thee!

The letters and words, rhymes and songs
I could have got it all wrong!
Hadn’t it been you to hold my little hands
And ensure that it all goes as plans!

The science experiments that you show
The seeds in my head would definitely grow!
The arts and crafts, the crayons and paint
The images in my heart would never faint!!!

As days turned to months and then to one whole year
On the last day of JKG, let us cheer!!
Love and respect for you is all I have
You teach me to always behave!!

Thanking you on this day
And ruminating of all the games we did play
You helped me be smart
Today is not the end, just the start!!!

Yeah I know, I have taken to writing again after a very long time. But here is an important issue on hand and I just could not stop myself from blogging on this! Hindi - is this the national language of India? Well, in short the answer is No. Let me tell you the story behind this. Till 1965, Articles 343 and 345 of the Constitution of India specified that the official language of India to be Hindi in Devanagari script, though states of India were free to adopt one or more local languages for all or any of the official purposes of that state. Pursuant to agitations particularly in South India in the 60s, today 22 languages carry official status and Government documents can be in any of the 22 recognized official languages. Axomia - the cultural heart!

Axomia or Assamese as we are popularly know as in English! Axom has a very rich culture. Not many people outside the state are aware of the beauty and culture of this pragmatic section of people. Here I mention some distinctive terms associated with Asom and Axomia people, in general! Bihu - "Otikoi Senehor Mugare Mekhela, Otikoi Senehor Maku, Tatukoi Senehor Rongali Bihuti, Napaati Kenekoi Thaku" No doubts when we hear the word Bihu, only Asom comes to our minds. Dhubri - the land of Rivers! Dhubri is a small town and the administrative headquarter of Dhubri district in Assam. Situated on the bank of the mighty Brahmaputra and the Gadadhar rivers, Dhubri holds heart to historical importance!
