Being Brave!

Being brave! They say I am brave Fortune that I crave! I have faced life’s huge wave Of my own thoughts, I too have been a slave! Waking up each day and pretending to have courage Do you think my mind has no stir’rage? Every day a battle I have fought But I thought, I would not rot! And that made me strong  But of peace, I really did long! I tried to sing Life’s beautiful song And keep away anything that could ever get wrong! No, I didn’t run away The lessons you gave would always play In my head and heart I kept reassuring myself, that Im not made of clay!! Hence I fought my own battles You know me, you must have heard the rattles! But my spirit could never be crushed The blood in my veins always gushed! Seventeen years, and its still on But really, now that you are gone I wish you could realise how bravely I have lived Every challenge that I have hived! Yes, im now brave

My dear teachers - dedicating on behalf of my JKG kid to her teachers!

My dear teachers! Teacher, teacher O’ dear teacher Your super brains are your most attractive feature! The A, B, C that you instilled in me I  would forever be ascribed to thee! The letters and words, rhymes and songs I  could have got it all wrong! Hadn’t it been you to hold my little hands And ensure that it all goes as plans! The science experiments that you show The seeds in my head would definitely grow! The arts and crafts, the crayons and paint The images in my heart would never faint!!! As days turned to months and then to one whole year On the last day of JKG, let us cheer!! Love and respect for you is all I have You teach me to always behave!! Thanking you on this day And ruminating of all the games we did play You helped me be smart Today is not the end, just the start!!!

Kotilingeshwar - A temple with a crore Shiv Lings!

Image
Sunday morning we planned a trip to Kotilingeshwar, a temple in Kammasandra, in Kolar district of Karnataka. Its around 73 kms from our apartments! So a kind of very short tour for us! We started very late, around noon. Sunday being a lazy day. The drive down was smooth and quick, and before we realized, we were in Kolar. We drove straight to the temple. Summer is early this year, the day was scorching! There is a parking fee of Rs 30. We parked the car and left behind our shoes in the car itself, walking bare foot into the temple. And must say, the floors were blazing! The entry had all sorts of shops, we typically see in any temple entry in India! Idols of God, feng shui items, fake flowers, gift items, food. In short, you name it, you get it kind of shops! The only thing missing was a ATM! As we were passing the sub entry, there were few lady hawkers who had all ways to convince us and all people that we would not get anything inside the temple and hence we should buy flowers, di...

With Nature!

Image
The cuckoo on the tree Whistling new songs, he is so free! His soothing voice, raising above all the noise He hides amongst the leaves, thats his choice! The sweet smelling earth To many new saplings, she has given birth! Caressing her children In her womb, many secrets are hidden! The seed that was lucky to grow The sprout that could finally show The hard soil that the gardener did plough And kept it safe from the crow! The water that did flow Not fast, but slow. The drizzle that fell The story that it did tell... For we all need to mature And care for the nature Not to hinder the growth of the plants Not to cut forests and burn the ants! The animals in the forests and farms They are, but our lucky charm! For the balance needs to maintained Or else, soon we would be strained! The colorful flowers and the chirping birds The growing grass and the grazing herds ...

Annual Day at School - Chrysalis High

Image
School life - always an experience for the students. My pre-schooler is in her 7th month of Junior Kindergarten. And believe me, the journey had been a roller-coaster ride! Anyways, leaving all the details of how and what happened when in school, let me just focus the shift to the Annual Day function observed yesterday. The kids, I must mention, had put up a show to remember! The journey of annual day started with the teachers and students, working in sync to do various dances, etc. It started being fun for the kids. They of course enjoyed the dances sessions over the daily doses of writings and spellings! Not all though enjoy dance! It was quite boring for some, observation classes for some where they would just observe what the other kids are doing! Excitement for some, who love dancing! I can only imagine the hard work put on by the teachers too! Their perseverance was obvious. Teaching groups of 30 kids to dance in co-ordination is quite a task, a herculean task! But they ...
