India!
I have visited almost the length and breadth of my country, India. Have interacted with people of diverse languages, cultures, religions, ethnic groups. Believe me, humanity rules. Let me in this blog write about 10 states in India I visited.
1. Assam - I was born in the small town of Tezpur, in Assam. Hence obviously had travelled across Assam. Assam is a very simple state. People are very friendly. There you would not find people being adamant on you speaking their language. Instead, they would try and learn your language. Try to understand you and offer all help. They have a very sweet language. You would fall in love with them once you get to know them. Never met such courteous people anywhere else in India!
Besides being courteous, Assam is well known for the Flora and fauna. The place is surrounded by hills. Even the metro places like Guwahati, the capital of Assam, has hills! Its a pleasure to the eyes.
The Kaziranga National Park, the Manas National Park, the mighty Brahmaputra river, the Oil refineries in Digboi, the coal mines in Tipong and obviously the tea gardens in the Sonitput district are worth mentioning. Tea gardens are no doubts scattered all over the place. And must mention, pleasing to the eyes.
2. Delhi - the Capital state of India, is one of its kind. You would find a wide variety of people residing here all together! People speaking different languages, different castes, creed, religion - all together in Delhi.
Delhi has immense history associated with it. The state is holding a history worth looking up into. The India Gate, the Qutub Minar, the Red Fort, the Rashtrapati Bhawan all needs a visit for sure. Besides the markets at Chandni Chowk, Delhi Haat, Connought Place, Karol Bagh, Sarojini market etc are all selling things we want!!!
3. Haryana - Haryana was home to prominent sites of the Indus Valley and Vedic Civilizations. Several decisive battles were also fought in the area, which shaped much of the history of India. These include the epic battle of Mahabharata at Kurukshetra mentioned in Hindu mythology (including the recital of the Bhagavad Gita by Krishna), and the three battles of Panipat.
Haryana is a leading contributor to the country's production of food grains and milk. The state is seeing growth in other aspects as well. The city of Gurgaon has rapidly emerged as a major hub for the information technology and automobile industries. Maruti Suzuki, India's largest automobile manufacturer, and Hero MotoCorp, the world's largest manufacturer of two-wheelers have their foots hold in Gurgaon! The towns like Faridabad, Sonipat, Dharuhera, Bawal, Panipat, Bahadurgarh, Panchkula, Rohtak, Yamuna Nagar and Rewari are industrial hubs. The Panipat Refinery is the second largest refinery in South Asia. There are long-established steel, plywood, paper and textile industries in the state too.
4. Maharashtra - Maharashtra is a state in the western region of India and by its size, it is the third largest state in India and is also the world's second-most populous sub-national entity.
Maharashtra included the rules of Satavahana dynasty, Rashtrakuta dynasty, Western Chalukyas, Mughals and Marathas.
The state has several tourist destinations including the popular Hindu places of pilgrimage, Pandharpur, Dehu and Alandi. Hazur Sahib Gurudwara at Nanded, Sai Baba shrine at Shirdi, the Shidhi Vinayaka temple, are all worth visits even if we are not religious kinds! The bollywood is ofcourse based out of Mumbai. The Ajanta and ellora caves hold many secrets to the time forgotten!
5. Rajasthan - The Princely state of Rajasthan is so beautiful. You are bound to fall in love with the dry deserts, the deserted lanes, the peacocks dancing here and there, the barren hillocks. The palaces, museums, flee markets, the attires are all very attractive there.

The Arabian sea washing the foots of the lord in Puri is enough to draw people in this religious place. The people are very simple and down to earth. Bhubaneshwar is a lovely town. I am sure you would love it too!
9. Punjab - The very colorful state of Punjab. Got an opportunity to drive across Punjab. Nice experience it was. The mustard fields, the tractors on the roads! The famous Amritsar Golden temple and the Wagha border, one cannot miss if we happen to be there.
